Updates on EvaGT development

EVAGT WIND TUNNEL TEST AT MIRA 6THOCTOBER 2010
The vehicle was delivered to the Mira wind tunnel
The fontal area was found to be 2.01 sq.m
Thirty eight runs were completed with the best results in each group analysed
Some of the things we tried were as follows :-
Small and then large Gurney strip on rear boot lip
A 5 degree diffuser underneath the rear
Front and rear ADL’s ( Anti Drag Lips )
Installing a fence in front of the car to simulate the on road behaviour of the car
The best results we had were on run 35. With a large Gurney strip on rear edge , front ADL’s and a 5 degree rear diffuser gave a cd of 0.345 , which wasn’t the best we saw (0.328) , however the front to rear down force was very much equalled out at 0.053 and 0.069 respectively .
We were very pleased with this and the modifications can now be incorporated into the first prototypes.

Morgan EvaGT (specification subject to change)
The goal is to manufacture a practical car that could be used everyday and answer all a family’s transport needs. Although it has two large doors the car can seat four adults and has a large boot (reference the current Morgan Aero SuperSport, but it is considerably deeper on the EvaGT with a full hatch style entry). As all Morgans the car will be fun to drive with sensitive hydraulic power steering and excellent balance. The mass is evenly distributed within the axles and the car has short overhangs.
