Drive into 2010 in silver style

A stylish, silver Morgan sports car could be yours for just £2, thanks to a special St Richard’s Hospice anniversary raffle.

The iconic car, produced in Malvern, is the special prize in the hospice’s silver anniversary raffle, marking 25 years since St Richard’s first started in Worcestershire.

The Morgan 4/4 Sport has been individually designed to reflect the hospice colours, with the interior seats in blue with green piping and the snowdrop logo embroidered on the headrests.

Community Fundraiser Joanna Street said, “This is a stunning raffle prize – imagine winning the Morgan and being able to drive into 2010 in such style! Morgan and St Richard’s are both celebrating anniversaries this year and are inspiring and iconic symbols of Worcestershire.”

She added, “This wonderful raffle prize has been made possible through the generous support of Webbs Garden Centres and Worcester Racecourse. This is a special year for us, celebrating 25 years of caring for patients and families living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We really hope people will spare £2 to support us, and may win a fantastic car in the process. Why not buy someone tickets as a Christmas present or just to treat yourself? ”

Webbs Executive Chairman, Ed Webb said, “Webbs is a long-standing supporter of St Richard’s and its wonderful work in the community. We are very happy to support them in this exciting venture. The raffle is an easy way to help the hospice for just £2 a ticket.”

Jenny Cheshire, Hospitality Manage of Worcester Racecourse said, “We are delighted to be supporting St Richard’s Hospice with their car raffle again this year.  The work they do is so important and touches the lives of so many.  We wish them every success with this fundraising venture.”

The draw for the raffle takes place on 31st March, 2010.

Tickets are on sale at Morgan and at all the hospice shops in Worcester, Malvern, Droitwich, Upton on Severn, Broadway, Tewkesbury, Pershore and Evesham and the hospice at Wildwood Drive, Worcester.

Volunteers will also be out and about selling tickets at popular local venues in the coming months.

Tickets can only be purchased by people with an address in the UK.  If you would like to contact the hospice to purchase tickets please call 01905 763963 and ask for the Fundraising Department or email JStreet@strichards.org.uk

This year St Richard’s Hospice is celebrating its silver anniversary marking 25 years of providing free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supporting their families. Each year the hospice team supports over 2,000 patients and family members in Worcestershire.

Patients are cared for in Day Hospice, the In-patient Unit or in their own homes by a specialist team including nurses, doctors, social worker, family therapist, counsellors, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and Citizens Advice Bureau worker as well as many trained volunteers.

In the In-patient Unit specialist staff are on hand 24 hours a day to manage patients’ symptoms and where, if they so choose, patients may spend the last few days of life in comfort and dignity. St Richard’s is grateful for all donations towards the £4.8m they need to raise this year to continue their work.
